Overview
If you need to update your payment method or remove a bank account from your loan payments, you can do so through My Account or by contacting our servicing team. Follow the steps below to ensure a smooth transition.
How to Update Your Preferred Bank Account
If you are signed up for monthly AutoPay payments, your preferred bank account is the one being used for your monthly withdrawals.
You will need to add a new bank account (if you have not already done so) in order to change the account you use for payments.
To add a new bank account:
- Log into My Account, select the loan you want to update, and navigate to the Bank Accounts section on the left-hand side of the page.
- Click Add bank account.
- Follow the instructions to enter your new account information.
- New accounts must be verified. Refer to the How to link a bank account securely for loan payments article for more information on the different verification methods.
- Once the new account has been verified, return to your loan dashboard and select Edit AutoPay to change your preferred bank account.
- Please allow at least 3 business days for your changes to take effect. If you have any upcoming payments scheduled within 3 business days of updating your AutoPay settings, those payments may still be processed.
✔ Only verified personal bank accounts in your name can be used. Business accounts will not be accepted.
📌 Note: You will need to update your bank account for each loan you have on file. Be sure to begin the process of adding a new account well in advance of any pending payments, to ensure time for verification.
How to Delete an Old Bank Account
If you have a closed account or one you no longer wish to use:
- Contact our servicing team and request the account be deactivated.
- If you have a scheduled payment from the account you want to remove, contact us at least three business days before the scheduled debit to ensure we process the change in time.
📌 Note: If you delete a bank account that was set as your preferred payment method, be sure to add and verify a new account before your next payment due date.
