How to utilize the AutoPay skip feature

Overview

If your current payment method is set to AutoPay, you may be able to skip your next automatic payment by scheduling a one-time payment instead. This feature is intended to allow borrowers to make a temporary adjustment to their AutoPay schedule, with automatic payments resuming on the regularly scheduled date the following month.

How to Skip Your Next AutoPay Payment

There are specific eligibility requirements (listed below) that must be met for the AutoPay skip option to be shown to you.  The easiest way to check if your account is eligible is to begin scheduling a one-time payment using the steps below.

  1. Log into your My Account and select the loan where you want to skip an AutoPay payment.
  2. Click on the “Make a Payment” button.
  3. In the new screen, if you are eligible to skip your next AutoPay payment, you will see these two options:
    • Pay early, and skip [your payment date] recurring payment
    • Submit additional payment, and keep [your payment date] recurring payment
  4. Select the “Pay early and skip” option, choose your preferred payment date from the calendar, and select your preferred payment bank account.
  5. Authorize the payment and click “Schedule Payment” to replace your next AutoPay payment with a one-time payment instead.

Eligibility Criteria for AutoPay Skip

In order for the AutoPay skip feature to be available, the following conditions must be met:

  • Your payment preference must be set to AutoPay.
  • The payment preference must not be set to twice a month AutoPay.
  • There must be no scheduled payment within the next three business days for the current payment period.
  • There must be at least one scheduled payment for the current pay period available to be skipped.
  • The loan cannot be charged off.
  • The loan product must be a personal loan, auto-refinance loan, or relief loan.

Key Reminders

✔ If you do not have the AutoPay skip option, scheduling a one-time payment will apply additional funds toward your balance but does not change any future scheduled payments.
✔ AutoPay payments will continue to process on your normally scheduled due date unless manually canceled.
✔ Check Your Dashboard – Always review upcoming payments in My Account to ensure your payment schedule is correct.

How to Manage Your Payments

  • If you want to adjust AutoPay settings, log into My Account and navigate to your Scheduled Payments section.  Click on “Edit AutoPay” to update your settings.
  • To avoid duplicate payments, ensure that you review your upcoming payment schedule before making a one-time payment.
