Overview
If your payment method is set to AutoPay, you may be able to skip your next automatic payment by scheduling a one-time payment instead. Automatic payments will resume on your regularly scheduled due date the following month.
How to Skip Your Next AutoPay Payment
There are specific eligibility requirements (listed below) that must be met for the AutoPay skip option to appear. The easiest way to check eligibility is to begin scheduling a one-time payment using the steps below.
- Log in to My Account or the Upstart mobile app.
- Select the loan card for the loan where you want to skip an AutoPay payment.
- Select Make a Payment.
-
If your account is eligible, you will see two options:
- Pay early, and skip recurring payment.
- Submit additional payment, and keep recurring payment.
- Select Pay Early and Skip, choose your preferred payment date and bank account, and schedule your payment.
Eligibility Criteria for AutoPay Skip
In order for the AutoPay skip feature to be available, the following conditions must be met:
- AutoPay must be enabled.
- Twice-monthly AutoPay is not eligible.
- There must be no scheduled payment within the next three business days.
- At least one scheduled payment in the current period must be available to skip.
- The loan must not be charged off.
- The loan must be a personal loan, auto-refinance loan, or relief loan.
Key Reminders
✔ If you do not have the AutoPay skip option, scheduling a one-time payment will apply additional funds toward your balance but does not change any future scheduled payments.
✔ AutoPay payments will continue to process on your normally scheduled due date unless manually canceled.
✔ Check Your Dashboard – Always review upcoming payments in your My Account or the Upstart app to ensure your payment schedule is correct.
How to Manage Your Payments
- If you want to adjust AutoPay settings, log into My Account or the Upstart app and navigate to your Scheduled Payments section. Click on “Edit AutoPay” to update your settings.
- To avoid duplicate payments, ensure that you review your upcoming payment schedule before making a one-time payment.
