How to request an official payoff letter

Overview

If you’ve recently paid off your Upstart loan, you can request an official payoff confirmation letter to document that your loan has been fully satisfied. This document is often used for personal records, proof to other financial institutions, or for credit reporting purposes.

We’re happy to provide it once your final payment has been verified as successful.

Steps to Request a Payoff Letter

1. Confirm That Your Final Payment Has Been Processed
Please allow 10 business days after your last payment for processing. This ensures we can verify that your account is fully paid off before generating your letter.

2. Contact Us to Submit Your Request
Once your final payment has cleared, reach out to us at servicing@upstart.com. In your message, include:

  • Your full name
  • Your loan account number
  • That you’re requesting a payoff confirmation letter
  • Your preferred delivery method (email or mail)

3. We’ll Send the Letter Within 1 Business Day
After verifying that your loan has been paid in full, we’ll send your payoff letter using your preferred delivery method.

💡 Tip: If your final payment was made recently, we may hold your request for a few days until the payment has fully cleared. You don’t need to resubmit—your request will be processed as soon as it’s eligible.

What the Payoff Letter Includes

✔ Confirmation that your loan has been paid in full
✔ The final payment date
✔ The date the loan was closed and satisfied
✔ Delivery to the email or mailing address you specify
