Using the Upstart mobile app: features and availability

Overview

The Upstart mobile app allows you to manage your loan quickly and securely from your mobile device. With the app, you can:

  • View loan details – Check your loan balance, payment schedule, and account information.
  • Make payments – Submit one-time or scheduled payments easily.
  • Check payment status – Track past and upcoming payments.
  • Explore additional loan options – Learn about other Upstart loan products.
  • Access FAQs – Find answers to common questions in the Help Center.

Currently, the Upstart app is available only for iPhone users, with plans to launch an Android version in the future.

Note:  If you are in an active bankruptcy this functionality may not be available to you.


1. How to Download the Upstart App

For iPhone Users

  1. Open the App Store on your device.
  2. Search for "Upstart: Personal Loans + More."
  3. Download and install the app.
  4. Log in using your Upstart credentials to access your loan account.

For Android Users

  1. The Upstart mobile app is not yet available for Android devices, but an Android version is planned for the future.
  2. You can still access your Upstart account on your mobile browser by visiting Upstart.com.

💡 Tip: Enable push notifications in your iPhone settings to receive loan updates and payment reminders.


2. How to Reset Your Password in the App

If you forget your Upstart password, you can reset it directly through the app:

  1. Open the Upstart app and tap Login.
  2. Select "I forgot my password" below the login credential fields.
  3. Enter your Upstart account email and submit the request.
  4. Check your email inbox for a password reset link.
  5. Click "Reset Password" and follow the instructions to create a new password.

💡 Tip: If you don’t receive the reset email, check your spam or junk folder or ensure you entered the correct email address.


3. Troubleshooting Issues with the Upstart Mobile App

If you experience issues logging in or using the app, try the following troubleshooting steps:

Basic Troubleshooting

  1. Log out and log back in:
    1. Tap the profile icon in the upper right corner.
    2. Select Logout and then log back in.
  2. Close and reopen the app:
    1. Swipe up from the bottom of the screen and pause in the middle.
    2. Swipe left or right to locate the Upstart app.
    3. Swipe up to close it, then reopen the app.
  3. Uninstall and reinstall the app:
    1. Touch and hold the app icon on your Home screen.
    2. Select Remove App → Delete App to uninstall.
    3. Reinstall the app from the App Store.

💡Tip: If you end up having to uninstall the app to resolve the issue, please notify us so that we can investigate and ensure there isn’t a deeper issue that needs to be resolved on our end.


4. Reporting a Bug or Issue

If you continue experiencing issues after troubleshooting, contact Upstart customer support through the app or website for assistance.
