Overview
Keeping your contact information up to date ensures you receive important notifications about your loan. You can update your email address, phone number, mailing address, and auto insurance details through your Upstart account or by reaching out to customer support.
How to Change Your Email Address
You can update your email directly in your My Account by following these steps:
Log in using your current email address.
Click on your name in the top-right corner and select “Edit Account Details” or “Edit Account.”
In the email field, enter your new email address and your current password (leave the new password field blank).
Click “Save” or “Submit.”
A confirmation email will be sent to your updated email address.
Go to your new email inbox, open the confirmation email, and click the link provided.
Sign in using your current password, and your email address will be updated.
How to Change Your Name
To request a name change on your loan account, you must provide two government-issued documents, showing:
✔ Your previous name
✔ Your new name
If using a marriage certificate or divorce decree, the document must include both names to be accepted.
How to Update Your Address or Phone Number
To update your mailing address or phone number, please contact customer support through the Contact Us section in your loan account. Be prepared to provide:
✔ Your new address or phone number
✔ The reason for the update
Note: The new address or phone number cannot be associated with a business or third party (such as an employer, attorney, or debt settlement company).
How to Update Auto Insurance Information
If you have an auto-refinance loan, you can update your auto insurance details after your loan is funded:
Log in to your Upstart account.
Click on your name in the top-right corner.
Select “Auto Insurance.”
Enter your provider name and policy number.
