How to withdraw or delete your loan application

Overview

If you no longer wish to proceed with your loan application, you can request to withdraw from the application process. However, loan applications and supporting documentation cannot be deleted due to regulatory requirements.

This guide explains how to withdraw your application, what happens to your information, and how to opt out of future communications.

How to Withdraw Your Loan Application

If you decide not to move forward with your loan:

  1. Email Upstart Customer Support – Visit the Contact Us section in your My Account dashboard to find the correct support information.

  2. Request to Withdraw Your Application – Specify that you no longer wish to proceed.

  3. Receive Confirmation – You will receive an email once your withdrawal request has been processed.

💡 Note: Withdrawing your application does not delete your application records or personal information.

Can I Delete My Loan Application?

Due to regulatory requirements, Upstart cannot delete applications for credit or any supporting documentation submitted or collected during the application process.

✔ Your personal information is stored securely and used according to our Privacy Policy.

If you no longer wish to receive promotional emails or marketing communications from Upstart:

✔ Email Upstart Support to request removal from marketing lists.
✔ Use the “Unsubscribe” link at the bottom of any Upstart marketing email.

💡 Note: You will still receive account-related emails if you have an active loan or application.
